They are the winners of the 2007 United States Professional Rising Star American Smooth Title, 2006 Ohio Star Ball Professional Rising Star Smooth Division, and of almost every professional rising star event in the United States in 2006. In the course of their careers Mayo and Lisa have been finalists in over 35 Open Championships across the US, and are Professional World American Smooth Finalists. Cumulatively dancing for over 30 years in ballet, ballroom, latin, jazz, and modern, they currently work and train out of Rogers Dancesport Center in Fairfield, New Jersey. Both Mayo and Lisa were the recipients of talent awarded collegiate scholarships, which allowed them to nurture their love for ballroom dance while receiving a collegiate education. Mayo attended Brigham Young University, dancing as a member of their world-renowned formation team, before teaming up with Lisa upon her recent graduation summa cum laude from Arizona State University. The duo moved to the New York area to fulfill their dancing dreams and has since had access to and trained with the top coaches and dancers in the world, including Gary and Diana McDonald, Paul Holmes, Michael Mead, Toni Redpath, Marianne Nicole, Brain and Kristi McDonald, and Rufus Dustin. This Texan outlaw and Minnesotan farm girl will win your heart and inspire your soul as one of the only all American teams to lead the new generation of American Smooth competitors to the top of the ranks. Look for Mayo and Lisa in Ohio Star Ball Open Professional American Smooth Final to be televised nationally in January of 2008.
